This is a very special crystal decanter which is based on a formal dining custom. Traditionally when port is passed around the table at the end of a meal, the decanter should not come to rest until it returns to the host. The rounded base of this glass decanter ensures that the port cannot be hogged as it’s passed around the table and returned to the wooden base. Of course, this decanter can be used for other drinks. It’s a fantastic vessel to decant fine wines with or to display and serve any after dinner drink.
